Spicy Grilled Calamari Steaks

The dish that you can make your own.

Preparation Time: 1h 15m
Cook time: 5 minutes
Total time: 1h 20m

Ingredients:
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 Tbsp paprika
  • 2 Tbsp cayenne pepper  (I used 2 T, but then very spicy) 
  • 1/4 cup(s) lemon juice
  • 1/2 Tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • 2 Tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 Tsp unsalted butter
  • 4 calamari steaks, 5 ounce portions
Method:
  1. Place cumin, paprika, cayenne, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic and butter in a zip-close bag.
  2. Add calamari steaks, seal bag and turn to coat steaks well. Marinate 1 hour in refrigerator.
  3. Heat grill to medium-high.
  4. Drain marinade and place steaks on hot grill, but avoid bringing into contact with flame. Grill 5 minutes or until done.

If you are like me that does not have allot of confidence in cooking seafood, then this is a good place to start.   I also served with yogurt to take a little of the bite away.
